Teen Youth Group Serves the Community by Covering Graffiti on City Overpasses in Placerville
May 12, 2026

The church's teenage youth group recently stepped out into the community for a service project that made an immediate and visible difference. Armed with paint, brushes, rollers, and a willingness to serve, the teens spent the afternoon covering graffiti on overpasses in the city of Placerville, helping restore a cleaner and more welcoming appearance to public spaces.
The outreach project was organized to encourage young people to put their faith into action by serving others through simple acts of kindness. Under the guidance of youth leaders and in cooperation with the Community Services Director with the City of Placerville, the group worked together to repaint areas that had been marked with graffiti, transforming the overpasses with fresh coats of paint.

Throughout the day, the teens worked side by side, carefully preparing surfaces and applying paint to cover graffiti while learning the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and community pride. The project provided an opportunity for everyone to contribute, regardless of experience, and demonstrated how many small efforts can make a meaningful impact when people work together.
The atmosphere was energetic and encouraging as volunteers shared conversations, laughter, and words of support while completing the work. Passing motorists and pedestrians noticed the improvements, and many expressed appreciation for the group's efforts to beautify the community.

Serving the community in this way impresses upon the youth that even a few hours of helping others can leave a lasting impact.
By the end of the project, several graffiti-covered areas had been restored, leaving behind cleaner public spaces for residents to enjoy. More importantly, the experience reminded the teens that serving others doesn't always require grand gestures—sometimes it begins with showing up, working hard, and caring for the community around them.

The congregation extends sincere thanks to the youth leaders, volunteers, and local partners who helped organize and support this community service project. Their dedication provided the teenagers with an opportunity to live out their faith through practical service while making a positive contribution to the city of Placerville.
The church looks forward to future service opportunities that encourage young people to be caring neighbors, responsible citizens, and faithful servants, continuing to make a positive difference both within the church and throughout the community.
