“We ate good food. We talked with good friends. And yes—some of us got wet!”
Bass Lake Families Make a Splash
July 30, 2025 - Rebecca Hunter

It was another fantastic community gathering at beautiful Lake Natoma on Wednesday, July 30th. This annual summer interfaith tradition brings together families and friends from local congregations for an evening of friendship and fun.

“We had a fantastic evening at Lake Natoma,” reported Gina Hunt. “Numerous family members from the Bass Lake congregation, and friends from other congregations participated. Grills sizzled throughout the event, and attendees happily dined on an assortment of drinks, salads, fruit, chips, and cookies. Everyone had plenty of time to mingle and watch the kids swim while the sun set over Lake Natoma. The party barge, kindly provided by the Lea family, was a highlight. Children loved piling onto it and families enjoyed using the paddleboards.”

“It was a beautiful night at the lake with dear friends,” said Shalee Price. “The youth had a blast in the water. A couple of people brought kayaks to enjoy a bit of exploring. So grateful for our Bass Lake community!"
“We ate good food. We talked with good friends. And yes—some of us got wet!” added Eric Lea.

This was our fourth year holding the event, and even though a few familiar faces were missing due to other happy occasions—such as preparations for a church wedding and a bridal shower the night before—the evening was still filled with joy and connection. A huge thanks to Jacey Hill for coordinating the event and providing some pictures. The Lake Natoma gathering continues to be a cherished summer tradition—one that brings our community closer together and leaves us looking forward to next year.
