A Joyful Time at Temple Hill

August 26, 2023 - Zack Funk

Under the cool shade of sprawling trees, a group of around 80 people came together for a heartwarming church picnic. The air was filled with laughter and the scent of mouthwatering pulled pork sandwiches, prepared with care by Daryl Lambert. Several bakers added a touch of sweetness with Texas sheet cake and blackberry pie.

As adults indulged in savory bites and sweet treats, kids transformed the grassy lawn into a playground of games and laughter. Cornhole, Spikeball and lots of water balloons united children and adults alike in moments of shared joy.

The temple grounds provided the perfect backdrop for this family friendly activity organized by the Cameron Park congregation.  Blankets on the ground, camping chairs, lawn chairs, and even folding camping couches allowed the community to revel in conversation and connection. New friendships were formed, and old ones rekindled, embodying the church's spirit of togetherness.

As the sun set, casting a warm glow, the day came to a close. Hearts were full, memories were made, and the annual picnic at Temple Hill once again proved that simple moments of food, fun, and friendship are truly timeless.
